Things I am Currently Fully Obsessed With

There are always at least 3-5 things I am obsessed with at any given time...and (un)fortunately for my dear friends and family they are subjected to me talking about all my obsessions all the time. But now I'm brining my obsessions to the masses with my latest post! Warning: If you're a dude you will most likely not like any of my obsessions.

1. John Frieda Full Repair shampoo and conditioner. In the past year I've noticed that my hair has dramatically changed. My roots are constantly feeling greasy and my ends are fried and all this after giving up coloring and flat ironing my hair. I thought I'd never find a product to fix this problem until a recent trip to CVS. For just $6 a bottle you are getting an amazing smelling product that leaves your hair weightless, frizz free, and very soft. Hands down, I love this product!

2. Toasted almond iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts. Now that summer has arrived in March (thank you Global Warming! I'll take it!), it's time for flip flops, sun dresses, and the best accessory of the season...iced coffee. My friend, Nicole, wanted to head to DD to try the new turtle iced coffee (she highly recommends this one) and I settled on toasted almond with cream and 3 splendas. It's like a slightly-bad-for-you snack and totally worth it. If you like almonds you will love these.

3. Speaking of almonds...we're at my #3 obession - Trader Joe's Creamy Almond Butter w/ Sea Salt. I'm always looking for ways to switch up my lunch and this week, as I'm prepping for my vacation to Mexico next week, I've been eating chicken slices from the deli and sliced gala apples with almond butter. If you're a fan of peanut butter you will love this product. It's perfectly salty and just sweet enough that you'll want to put it on everything and eat it straight from the jar. Funny story...I'm sitting down to enjoy my apples and almond butter this morning and I come across an article from US Weekly. It says "Leo DiCaprio's supermodel gf says almond butter is making her fat". Even after reading how she thinks eating almond butter and apples is making her fat, I still happily dipped my apple into my jar and smothered the whole thing...it's just that good.

4. Skirts from Forever21. Yes, another post about Forever21. When they stop making cute and amazing adorable things at just $14 then I will stop writing about them. Until then...you're welcome. So not to stress again how I'm going on vacation next week (Mexico...did I mention that?), but I needed some new things for the trip. XX1 is rocking it this season with awesome skirts which you can dress up and dress down. I'm glad to see that a style for the upcoming season is skirts that hit your knee and don't hug your tush line. I tried on a few and while I loved almost all of them, I knew I could only buy one. I chose the one pictured here because I love how versitile it is. Just remember my tip about shopping at XX1 - block off an hour, go room by room, and keep what you're looking for in mind. Stick with one theme, whether is be city chic or bohemian or work attire...keep your ADD in check and happy shopping!

To close, I know I'm late on getting a post up about what I did to decorate my dining room. I'm going to take pics tonight and hopefully have something by tomorrow. And the frame collage has now been moved into the living room so we're transitioning pictures in and out of the whole idea...that's going to take some more time but I hope to have it wrapped up in the next month!

Because Regular Door Stoppers Are Too Mainstream...

I'm almost positive the title of this post makes zero sense to anyone, so here is a little back story for everyone...

My apartment has a door to the master bedroom and a door to the guest bedroom. Neither of the doors like to stay open on its own. One very hot day last summer, my cat, Roo Bear, got trapped inside the guest bedroom all day with no AC and no access to her food, water, or litter box...I might have been a tiny bit devastated upon coming home to realize this.

So I began my quest to find door stoppers to ensure this incident would never happen again....and what a quest it was. Home Goods, Pier 1, Target, Walmart, K-Mart, Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond...nothing. All I wanted was a little unique door stopper that would look nice and cute and sort of like a decoration. But luck was not on my side...until President's Day weekend when I went to Maine to visit my dad and step-mother.

They live near Bethel and there are a lot of antique stores in the area where I was assured I would be able to find what I really, truly wanted - an antique cast iron. Here is a picture on the right of what I wanted to give you an idea of the amazing-ness.

So I actually ended up finding one at a little hole in the wall store a little past Bethel on Route 2, heading towards Grafton, NH. For $18 I secured myself a little piece of history and a whole lot of happiness. The only issue is that there was only one and it's not painted, it's just cast iron. So pics coming soon of my finished product and hopefully I can get a second one for the other door...and officially retire Phil's books as door stoppers!

Other notable aspects of the weekend:

Meg and Will taught me how to play Apple Letters (also known as Banana Grams) which might be the only game in the history of games that I actually won AND more than once so as to prove it wasn't a fluke. Although there was one game in which I won using the word "pistle", which happens to NOT be a word.

We also went to a pub called Ebineizer's, which was rated the place to get the best beer in the country and...the WORLD. Yep, that's right. The best beers in the world can be found at an incredibly remote, tiny pub where Meg and I were referred to as Kourtney Kardashian.

I will assume they meant it in a malicious way, but I'll take any comparison to KK that I can get. Here's a picture of Kourtney II with a very interesting beer that was more similar to a champagne than actual beer.

And the highlight of the trip...Will getting to rock DOUBLE layers of plaid flannel. Not many men can pull off this incredibly amazing fashion statement, but Will is just one of those guys who knows the latest trends in Maine outerwear and pulled it off perfectly. I love how the under layer is a different color than the outer layer...so unique.

So it definitely appears I've spent the entire winter in remote locations in Maine and New Hampshire doing very un-Natasha-like things, but I have to say...for a winter that really wasn't a winter (average temp has been 50, no lie) I've been having a total blast. I've managed to spend time with great friends also get to spend time with members of my family I don't see that often like Felicia, my sister, and my dad, Wes. Here's to hoping the next couple of weeks of winter are as fun as the past few weeks and let the countdown to Mexico begin!

T-minus 2 weeks!!!
